Exterior Façade Remediation

Completed exterior façade remediation

The Challenge

Wardell Remedial was engaged by our client to undertake exterior façade remediation works at the University of Sydney’s Sports and Aquatic Centre (G09), Darlington Campus. The building — a mixed-material structure comprising rendered masonry, face brickwork and exposed concrete — had sustained significant deterioration across multiple elevations requiring a comprehensive multi-trade remediation response. Works encompassed brickwork crack remediation and replacement across the north and west elevations, concrete render crack repairs and re-rendering across five façade zones totalling over 250m², concrete lintel spall repairs including treatment of exposed rusted reinforcement, window seal remediation, and painting of all patching works to match the existing finish.

Completed rendered masonry and brickwork

The Solution

Wardell Remedial mobilised a multi-trade team of bricklayers, renderers, concrete spalling technicians and painters to deliver the works within a compressed five-week programme, maintaining quality across all trade packages simultaneously.

A multi-trade exterior façade remediation delivered within a five-week programme on an active university campus — brickwork, render, concrete lintel and window seal works completed across five elevations, with ITP compliance across all trade categories and a high standard finish signed off by the University of Sydney.
